If you are a talented frontend’er with a good personality and a strong personal drive, this is the challenge you have been waiting for.
At AutoUncle we’re all about making hassle-free deals happen. As a frontend developer, you will take part of a SCRUM team. You will be working alongside a core group of talented peers that is spearheading the innovation of how cars are bought and sold in Europe.
Some of the things you will be working on are:
Our current stack runs on Ruby on Rails, Coffeescript, React, Postgres, Redis, some Bootstrap, AWS and more. We work using: Github, Slack, Trello, Honeybadger, Google Analytics, Google Optimise, Semaphore (for automated testing) as well as a range of internally built monitoring and management systems. We work based on SCRUM and believe that the best products are built when frontend and backend is in close collaboration.
Taking part of the development team at AutoUncle is unlike development work at most other companies. When you join AutoUncle, you sign up for a journey of building one of Europe’s biggest consumer services. The company is financially strong and operating fast. We have very few managers and expect new colleagues to get onboard with an eagerness to make a difference and grow themselves as part of the journey.
We believe the best results are produced in environments where people enjoy working. As you get started you’ll quickly appreciate that the company has a clear vision and that the time from idea to action is short. We move fast and experiment passionately to achieve measurable progress. You’ll get to learn people from different cultures and speak a lot of English.
AutoUncle has traction in 10 countries. The service is used by millions of people and customers are being unboarded at a fast pace. Through seven years we’ve built a strong codebase with advanced technology that you won’t find anywhere else. Autouncle’s platform is still expanding and we relentlessly attack new and ambitious challenges.
You’re a talented frontend developer with a strong drive to build great products. We’re not picky about academic background and don’t require that you have advanced proficiency in Ruby on Rails. We hope that you can convince us that you have skills by showing us things you have built and contributed to. You should be a fast learner with an ability to self-ignite and work closely with other talents. We are generally very data-driven when we solve problems, so a natural analytical mindset is a big advantage.
We appreciate to see that you care about what you build and work with yourself to become even better.
In your application, please include a few paragraphs where you tell us a bit about yourself and what interests you about the position. Besides that we’re super curious to see what you’ve done before: code examples of work, interfaces you’ve built and perhaps responsibilities you have had in other projects. The more specific the better. If we sense there is a good match we’ll invite you to talk and visit our office.
We handle all interactions discretely and will make sure that your interest in growing is not going to create conflict elsewhere.
